I’ll just blame the weather on global warming. Also, please note— “ I ain’t complaining.”

Some how I missed the chance to frolic on beach all summer, so this post summer beach weather is giving me life. I mean how many people can say that they are laid up on a beach enjoying beautiful weather in the thick of the fall? I’ll wait....

Still Fatigued

Every year I say I am going to hang up my fatigue, and every year that statement is a lie. The army fatigue trend has always been around but it really blew up in 2011 and has been present ever since. I’m not sure if it’s the army green color that makes it so trendy for fall or if it’s the pairing of bright colors with the camo pattern that makes it pop in the summer. Either way, I “ain’t” done with it just yet.

Since Fall started a few weeks back, I figured I shoot a fatigue look that I’ll be rocking this Fall. I paired a thrifted camoflouge crop jacket with some black fringe pants from Nasty Gal, patent leather black So Kate’s, and a gold clutch designed by I am Jennifer Le. See the the full look below.

Below are also some more fatigue looks for you to try inspired by my friends or people I wished were my friends.

Like a Moth to a Flame

He said the passion I have awakens him, it frightens me. Passion can be a strong and barely controllable emotion. What would it look like if I lost control?

The pictures curated in this post are from a recent photo shoot I was involved in. Laci Jordan was the photographer, Roger and Joy were the muses, and I was responsible for styling/design. I could have easily placed the photos in my styling section on my website but I was very passionate about this shoot and wrote a few poetry pieces to accompany the pieces.  Please let me know your thoughts!

The Lady in Red

I’m a very intentional person. Everything I say, do, or wear is an elaborate concept. My new obsession lately, has been aligning the meaning of certain colors with my current space in life. Color has a huge impact on our emotions, our perceptions, and our spiritual and physical well being.

When you understand the meaning and power a color holds you can leverage that to help you better communicate your intent and message.

Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of red. Beyond certain affiliations I have and my love for the color, red is a symbol for so many things. For me the color represents boldness and toes the line between class and risqué.

Below are some other things the color red represents:

  • Red is an intense color that is packed with emotion ranging from passion, intense love, and to anger
  • Red is a highly visible colorbthat grabs attention and is often associated with increased confidence
  • Red represents power and courage

What does red mean to you?
